Only words of sincere appreciation and admiration were heard about Jaya Krsna Prabhu from speaker after speaker. It seemed as though the entire roomful of devotees would sing his glories, and most probably they would have, if time had allowed. When the devotees got up to leave, they described the evening as a part of a history that had run its course.
Many speakers shared their memories and experiences with Jaya Krsna over the last seven years. He was the financial and administrative director of Bhaktivedanta College. His retirement from the college is not full retirement from his managerial service, as he remains on the board of trustees and will spend up to two months a year at the college. We all knew that with his enthusiasm he would not stop just yet. However, he has taken up the service and position of temple president in New Vrindavan, West Virginia, for three years.
Jaya Krsna, a jewel who left a shining impression on every member of the Radhadesh community, has devoted part of his life and savings to the college in its early years, when it was unsure of its future. He came into the project with inspiration and dedication to growth. His foresight helped lead the project to its current success, in its ninth academic year.
Everyone enjoyed berry ice cream, cake, and yogi tea served to the community by Jaya Krsna himself.
