Summer Fun and Spirituality: Radhadesh Youth Camp - 2010-07-23
The drastic change in climate for some, from desert sun to a breezy valley, is not the only change experienced by the participants at the Radhadesh Summer camp after their arrival at the chateau in the Belgian Ardennes from the bustling cities of Dubai, Toronto, and Moscow.
The unique environment of an ashram life (temple residence) in the countryside also offered a variety of summer activities, including outdoor sports, horseback riding, and sightseeing. All the while the participants learned devotional skills, such as mrdanga (Indian drum), dancing, devotional songs, garland-making, cooking and other aspects of Vaishnava culture.
Student Profiles of the Class of 2010 - 2010-06-27
After three academic years of intensive yet gratifying study of Vaishnava texts -- which included analysis, research, and listening to lecturers who travel worldwide and teach various aspects of Caitanya Vaishnavism -- the third-year students of Bhaktivedanta College were regretfully relieved to complete their course work.
Bhaktivedanta College celebrated its eighth graduation ceremony on June 16th, and seven students received a Bachelor of Theology degree. The degree is accredited through the University of Wales Lampeter and is acknowledged everywhere.
Some students will return to their countries, some will continue their education, and others will begin looking for work or a career. All will develop their spiritual lives based on their experiences in Radhadesh.
Japa & Kirtan Arrow Pierced the Heart! - 2010-05-14
During May 2-7 Japa & Kirtan Retreat took place in the beautiful
land of Radhadesh, organized by Bhaktivedanta College as part of its devotional
strand of courses. More than a hundred devotees and community members took
part, and dozens more followed the broadcasts on the Internet.
Sacinandana Maharaja conducted the retreat with a team who
carefully and systematically organized the activities in such a way that the
participants could wholeheartedly receive the treasures of chanting the holy
names.
College Students Have a Vedic Wedding - 2010-05-13
Rama Kesava Dasa and Tivra Bhakti Dasi are like peas in a pod. Both are sensible, kind, spiritually minded, respectful, and motivated to serve Krishna. They met at the college with the aid of some senior administrators. These two well-liked students had a beautiful wedding in the morning on March twelfth. The temple room was festively decorated in reds and golds.
Guests from both sides attended. Rama's mother, Tara Laksi Dasi, and Tivra's mother and sister, Leena and Kaisa, attended. Tara Laksi gave a heartfelt talk in her native language, Russian, which was translated by a student, about the importance of finding a spiritually encouraging and strong partner.

Topical Classes on Foundational Spiritual Values - 2010-04-03
Bhaktivedanta College has been organizing topical classes on foundational spiritual values to assure that students learn the essentials of devotional service. These classes are held every Tuesday in the temple room, during the regular time for Bhagavatam classes. Yadunandana Swami is the main speaker; lectures are also given by another speaker or the students. Every other week, students give classes, which gives them practice and encourages them to study the topics in advance. The themes have been: definitions of pure devotional service; its different divisions (practice, awakening, and love); the five most potent practices of the yoga of devotion; the importance of secondary duties; social and moral responsibilities; instructions for human life; austerities of the body, speech, and mind; personal application; meritorious actions; and social and religious responsibilities.
What's it like studying at Bhaktivedanta College? - 2010-03-22
Four first-year students share their experience:
the difference between studying in Hawaii and Belgium; what the college
is like for a Mayapur gurukuli; how someone finds the College after
doing eleven years of temple service in South Africa; and why someone
who lived in Radhadesh his whole life decides to go to college there.
Radhadesh Summer Camp 2010 - 2010-03-07
Based
on the request of many devotees, in July of 2010, Bhaktivedanta College
will offer a summer camp for young devotees aged 14 to 21. Experienced
guides will help the youth become accustomed to life in the spiritual
community of Radhadesh and teach them music, art, spiritual aspects of
life, and lots of recreational activities.
There will be plenty
of cultural exchanges and lots of learning of new skills. Most camps
offer fun, friendship, and memories, but what makes the Radhadesh Summer
Camp unique is our commitment to offer children a pure devotional
atmosphere, filled with opportunities to perform devotional activities.
Participants will explore many aspects of spiritual life and learn how
to integrate these into everyday life.
The camp is both a
wonderful way to spend a holiday and an exciting opportunity to broaden
skills, add experience to one's life, and develop friendships with peers
from around the world. Participants will visit nearby cities in Europe
with fellow campers and discover the wonders of nature in the Belgian
Ardennes. Campers will return home spiritually enlivened and refreshed.
The Radhadesh Summer Camp offers young people an exceptional
opportunity to make friends and a chance to grow in a favorable
atmosphere of intercultural exchanges and devotional activities under
the guidance of experienced teachers.
