Kalindi Dasi is an enthusiastic First Year student and plans to finish all three years of studies offered by the College. She took the Bhakti Shastri course in Mayapur and developed a strong attachment to that holy place.
In Radhadesh she pleases Sri Sri Radha-Gopinatha and Their devotees by leading sweet devotional songs on the harmonium.
What helped you decide to join the College?
A year ago, in March 2005, when I came to Radhadesh for the first time, from Estonia, I knew nothing about Bhaktivedanta College. The first time I thought of joining the College was when I met one of the students; I was so impressed by her description of her inner development during her studies. Realizing how important it is to be qualified for my future services in the mission of Srila Prabhupada, I decided to enroll at the College, too. Actually, the maturity of the students — their capability, focus, and happiness — helped me decide.
Are your expectations being fulfilled?
Absolutely! I was immediately impressed by the high standards of all the teachers, and by their caring, personal, and supportive attitudes. Also, the variety of different courses really helps me work on myself and develop skills relevant for inner growth and spreading Krishna consciousness, too.
What challenges are there for you?
There are many. Probably the biggest one is to build my confidence in my ability to perform well in an academic environment. Facing the challenges and working to overcome them makes me stronger, helps me mature, and brings me closer to Krishna.
What will you do in the future?
To be honest, it is not clear. But I feel that since Krishna brought me to the College, He has a plan for me. I just hope that I will be able to contribute my experience, knowledge, and skills to Srila Prabhupada’s mission.
How do you see the College progressing?
Bhaktivedanta College is an extremely valuable project and very much needed in ISKCON. I hope that the College students can meet all their own expectations, and I hope that those running the College gain all the enthusiasm and strength they need to overcome any possible difficulties and challenges.
