Recently, a milestone was passed by Bhaktivedanta College, which held its tenth annual inauguration ceremony in September. Members of the Radhadesh community joined the students and staff at the ceremony to meet the incoming students.
Systematic education is a cornerstone of Srila Prabhupada’s vision for ISKCON so that the Society will grow and develop in a communal way. The continuing success of Bhaktivedanta College lies not only in providing students with a fine standard of Krishna consciousness, higher education but also in exemplifying such a model and inspiring others to take up this important service.
“God conscious education is more important than eating,” said Yadunandana Swami, the Principal. “Srimad-Bhagavatam and Sri Isopanisad say that the human form of life is useless without Krsna consciousness. Therefore eating without being spiritually educated is simply a waste of energy or harmful, in that the person will act in ways that are a disservice to the self and the society.”
The college is making a transition managerially, so this is a time of challenges and opportunities. Bhaktivedanta College thanks all its friends for their continuing support and hopes to provide this service for the benefit of ISKCON and the greater society for years to come.
