Rama Kesava Dasa and Tivra Bhakti Dasi are like peas in a pod. Both are sensible, kind, spiritually minded, respectful, and motivated to serve Krishna. They met at the college with the aid of some senior administrators. These two well-liked students had a beautiful wedding in the morning on March twelfth. The temple room was festively decorated in reds and golds.
Guests from both sides attended. Rama’s mother, Tara Laksi Dasi, and Tivra’s mother and sister, Leena and Kaisa, attended. Tara Laksi gave a heartfelt talk in her native language, Russian, which was translated by a student, about the importance of finding a spiritually encouraging and strong partner.
The community came together to help prepare and service the event. Yadunanada Swami, the College Principal, gave a welcoming address. The priest conducting the fire sacrifice was the Assistant Course Director, Mahendra Dasa. Students put up the décor. Students helped serve the meal at the reception in the restaurant or played music during the ceremony or made wedding gifts.
The couple said that they hope to please everyone present and to receive the blessings of everyone for a happy, successful marriage.
Rama said, “I am really pleased how the day turned out. It exceeded my expectations. There was a great mood: familial, sweet, informal, and relaxed.”
The bride said that she “is very grateful to all who helped,” and she mentioned Malati, Bhagavati, Gaura Vani, and Krishangi. “I hope I didn’t forget to thank anyone,” she added. “Everyone has been so kind.”
After they graduate in June, they will go to Canada, where Rama lives, to settle down.
