In 2006-07, many of our students have been provided accommodation in the Radhadesh castle. The Radhadesh management provided eight renovated rooms in the brahmacari and brahmacarini ashramas, and six more rooms will be built at the top of castle tower before the end of this year.
Instead of buying cheap furniture, the college managers looked for devotee carpenters to build new beds, desks, and cupboards in oak. The operation started with buying six oak tree trunks, with a combined weight of twelve tons, unloading them, having them cut, and drying the wood in an oven.
Then, thanks to Bhakta-priya Dasa and Bhakta Matthias from Germany, two professional carpenters, the college students gratefully ended up with nice furniture in their rooms, along with new mattresses, bedding, chairs, lamps, wastepaper baskets and a wonderful devotional picture.
Bhaktin Kai said, “I really love the new furniture, and I never had a better mattress. With Krishna’s picture on the wall, everything is quite perfect”.
Work is continuing now with the help of two other devotees, Rta Dasa and Lokanatha Dasa, both also from Germany.
