6-day Schedule

During these six days, we will explore the transformational power of sound through voice embodiment meditation, chakra chanting and kirtan. The greatest gift is to express one’s heart through singing and feel that joy spread to the world. Kirtan and mantra chanting are potent tools to connect us with the Divine and help us transform.

Voice-toning meditation is a powerful and ancient form of healing which has been used for ages to evoke certain effects in the surroundings and in the human psyche. Toning itself is a simple process of releasing the vocal sound with a vowel ( either a , e , i , o , u ) and directing it towards a certain energy centre in the body. It offers you an opportunity to take a moment and connect yourself with your inner realm and get new insights about how your voice can be a healer.

Find new ways of expressing yourself through your voice with improvisation. Through different exercises, you are guided to find your Soulsong and also become courageous to express yourself through your voice.

One of the essential aspects of singing is proper deep breathing so that it will support you in your voice development. Through certain exercises, you are guided to become aware of what muscles to use to have more power and strength in your voice.

In some of the morning vocal sessions, we focus on the relationship between our body and our voice. How important is body posture when you sing? What’s the importance of a relaxed body and open heart for vocal freedom? How can my body be an instrument of sound?

In harmonium sessions, you will be introduced to an Indian scale of Sargam and a basic western chord system so that you can chant and feel the freedom of playing the harmonium in a meditative mood. We will choose one chord sequence with which you can accompany yourself with several mantra melodies.

For being able to accompany the simple kirtan.

In the evening, we will gather for an hour to practice in groups what we have learned during the day and invite each other to take turns to lead kirtan and accompany on different instruments.

Krishangi Lila
Krishangi Lila

Krishangi Lila, originally from Estonia, is a devotional singer, sound artist, voice embodiment coach and healer giving voice workshops, sound baths and concerts in different places worldwide. Besides singing, she accompanies herself on harmonium, bansuri, setar and frame drum. Since 2014 she has been a teacher of harmonium and vocals in Kirtan Course at Bhaktivedanta College, Radhadesh.

She graduated from the Norwegian State Academy of Music in 2000 as a classical singer. For some years after graduating, she performed western medieval music with different music groups as Rondellus and  Olde Hansa Musicians in Estonia.

But her musical interest changed after she came in contact with the bhakti yoga tradition and joined the ashram for 12 years, where Sanskrit mantra singing was a daily practice. During this period of her life, she studied bhakti yoga philosophy and graduated from Lampeter University with Bachelor’s Degree in Vaishnava Theology. Her frequent travels to India led her to further research in Nada yoga and studies in Dhrupad music with Gundecha Brothers in Bhopal.

Western medieval vibes, Indian ragas, and nada yoga practices with flavours from shamanic and sufi practices deeply influence her musical compositions. Improvisation, movement and meditation on the sound are three main principles that are the basis of her musical pieces.

As a voice embodiment coach, she focuses on the healing aspect of the voice; how to find your natural voice; how to use the healing potencies of the voice to remove the energetic blockages and tensions from the body; and how to find the full resonance in your body. The voicework practice is based on relaxation, meditation and deep listening.

In 2008, she released her first album, “Divine Love”, with Kalindi dasi. This CD, commissioned by Bhaktivedanta College, was mainly inspired by the Holy texts of the Divine Rasa Dance from the scripture Bhagavata Purana.

A new album called “Lalasa” (“Longing”) was released spring of 2020 by an ethnic fusion project called “Lila”, where Krishangi Lila as a singer, collaborates with Jonathan Kay on esraj and saxophone and Ziya Tabassian on Sufi percussions and Sina Gheisary on ney and oud.
