    • Living in the country

As a student you will have the rare opportunity to experience village life, but with modern amenities. You have access to many hectares of forests, meadows, and fields. In this part of Europe each season comes with its own characteristics, so you will experience much natural diversity.
    • The eco factor

If you want to be at the forefront of ecology and grow your own food, you're welcome to use the organic garden. You can even learn to milk a cow.
    • Attend college and stay healthy

Unfortunately, in college, students may neglect their health. Regular universities are full of distractions and encourage unhealthy habits and the eating of junk food. At BIC, you breathe clean air, eat a purified and healthy diet, and associate with good persons. You can also learn to keep your balance with hatha yoga and ayurveda.
  • Radhadesh, set in a hilly, forested area of Belgium, provides an ideal environment for study. The devotee community is far from bustling roads. Walking is easy to do. Even when it rains, the atmosphere is pleasant. College students eat meals with the community members, who number more than fifty. They dine either in a new hall, at low tables, in the winter, or in a large tent, on tables and chairs (or on the lawn) in the summer. The Deities preside from elaborate marble altars and create a sublime atmosphere. The temple floor is also marble and is heated in the winter. The men and women alternate weekly in using the temple room to chant japa. Both men and women give classes, lead kirtanas, and offer aratis. Overall, the mood is one of serious studying, not socializing.
  • With its scenic, secluded environment, the college campus is ideal for study, research, and reflection. Students take advantage of the college’s new or recently refurbished residential facilities. Dominating the landscape is the impressive Chateau. It houses a gorgeous Radha-Krishna shrine that is renowned for its high standards of puja (worship) and kirtan (musical meditation). Up-to-date facilities now include:
    • student lounge
    • Pure-vegetarian restaurant
    • gym, sauna, and laundry room
    • library specialising in Hindu Studies
    • wireless Internet connection
    • gift shop and bakery
    • interactive classrooms
    • Museum of Sacred Art

  • Students attend Bhaktivedanta College from throughout the world. Despite a rich ethnic and cultural diversity, they share a sense of belonging, which extends well beyond the classroom and into the local and extended communities.

Social life here is quite different from that at other colleges. Our students often have some expertise in the performing arts, such as dramaand spiritual Indian music. Most popular are the festival days, spiritual retreats, and sumptuous vegetarian feasts. Popular recreational activities include walking, swimming, cycling, and cultural visits. Our students share a keen interest in current social trends and philosophical debate.
